Class deputy speech

If I had to run to be one of the 2 class deputy in my class, here what my speech would look like. Enjoy!

Dear friends, it is time. It is time to choose between the people who stand before you as candidates, and it is time to vote for the 2 who will represent the entirety of our class. It’s a lot of responsibility. Imagine being responsible for making sure that the ideas, wishes and perspectives of 19 other students get represented. I hope that I can be one of those people. To truly be a deputy, you have to care. I may have gotten here 4 weeks ago, but even after the first day, I realized that each and everyone of you makes this class worth caring about. It’s about fighting for what’s right for you. But I can’t do it without you, so I ask that you care too. Listen to our ideas, and choose honestly. Remember though that the one you choose has to care. They have to care, and they have to act. I want to act. I want to help you, my friends, and I have a fresh perspective that I can use to improve our class. I am the only candidate who has the ability to look at these issues with a different perspective, for I am the only candidate who is new here. I can bring meaningful change, not just due to that, but also because I’ve seen change firsthand in the real world. I worked as a legislative page at the Ontario Parliament for 2 weeks this year, and I saw first hand how the government of Ontario made its decisions. I learned from the page program how to be a leader and a representative, and I promise I will use those skills to their full potential if you give me the opportunity to. Remember when I said that a deputy has to act? Well, I have a few ideas for the short term, long term and medium term that I want to present, with your permission. First of all, short term: I would like to create a digital suggestion box on google forms, which would send itself to your emails every morning. Finally, I would like to have noise canceling headphones in our classes, so that we can concentrate on the test, and not all the stimuli around us. Now for the medium term: I propose the creation of a class thermometer, and in our classes excluding electives, if we do our homework the meter goes up, and if we forget the meter goes down. When the meter is filled, we host a class potluck or party where we all enjoy, perhaps during lunch. Finally for the Mid term, I would like to propose the addition of Sweets Season, where on holidays I explain what holiday it is, and draw a small doodle to commemorate the occasion. On special occasions like thanksgiving or Diwali, we could take turns bringing in holiday snacks for the class, and have them. Finally, for the long term: We could set up badminton in the gym during recess, and we could have additional badminton training available. Another thing we could set up for recesses are squash courts and pickleball, to make more sports available, and we could attempt to bring back swag friday. Finally, we could set up professional golf training twice or thrice a year, to get people interested in golf, and to make them better. Consider these ideas, my new set of eyes and my experience. I can help this class walk into the future. Just remember, vote for Farhan, vote for the future.
