Malayalee from India

Hello! I am talking about a movie called Malayalee from India. Malayalee from India is a film made by Dijo Jose Antony and it features a character named Gopi from India. It’s a great and heartfelt movie that touches on issues faced in Kerala, including religious and stigma-related issues, as well as India-Pakistan tensions and violence.

Spoilers ahead:

The movie’s plot revolves around Gopi and his friend, who are politically active in the state. When India loses a cricket match against Pakistan, some kids light firecrackers, causing the community to get very upset. Gopi’s friend, trying to be funny, throws a Molotov cocktail, which is really messed up. Because of this incident, Gopi has to flee the country. He goes with his uncle to a remote desert location during the COVID-19 pandemic. They are surrounded by camels, a huge aggressive Pakistani man, and a cat.At first, Gopi doesn’t like the Pakistani man, but they eventually become great friends. However, the Pakistani man dies of COVID-19, and Gopi takes all the gifts he had for his daughter, whom he hasn’t seen in a long time. He gives them to her and tells her to never stop learning, despite the men in her life trying to force her to stop. Her brother was killed for this reason, but she never wanted to stop learning, so she persevered.

Inspired by Gopi’s words, she continues to learn and grow, even after being beaten by her brother for her persistence. She becomes a role model for young girls. Meanwhile, Gopi starts his own farm and meets someone like him there. The movie is a mix of heartfelt and funny moments, conveying important life lessons about perseverance, thinking before acting, and the idea that we are all people who shouldn’t judge others before knowing them. I rate it 4/5 stars!

By the way, the movie is in Malayalam with subtitles available in various languages. Enjoy!
