If I had to put anything in a time capsule, the 5 most important things would be Money, Books, Pop Culture items, AI, and a Map of Canada.

The reason for putting in Money, is that money is something that changes a lot, a fact that is evidenced by the change from Queen Elizabeth’s head on the coins, to the newer coins with Prince Charles head. Money isn’t something that changes every 100 or 123 years, money is something that is constantly changing around us, based on the current scenario in the world. That’s important, because comparing things from the past and things from the present that have changed helps put things in chronological order, and makes timelines. Also,it provides some information on the item itself, in this case money, like how it was made back then. For which kinds of money that I would put, I would put an American penny, because they don’t make them anymore,a coin and dollar bill with Prince Charles’ head, and a coin and bill with Queen Elizabeth’s face. I would also put books, because literature is one of the best ways of knowing what is going on in the world, and what has happened, as well what are some popular themes in the world that people enjoy. Also, books and their styles of writing as well as genres change a lot, and come in and out of popularity, therefore are really good objects to put into time capsules. Books also have information about grammar, and the language that they’re written in, because the meanings and spellings of words can show a lot about the language itself.  For which books I would put in, I would put in 3: the Chalice of the Gods, Spy School Goes North, and Paradoxical Prime Minister. I would add pop culture items, because pop culture can influence the world in ways we never even thought possible, and being able to see how that unfolds can tell you a lot about human psychology, and you can also see what people used to like, and based of other things you can determine how interest has evolved over the centuries. Also, things don’t stay in popularity too long in pop culture. Take Among Us for example. It used to be an extremely popular game during the pandemic, but then everyone moved on after 2 years. Therefore, pop culture changes a lot, and changing stuff is always great to put in time capsules, for reasons I disclosed above (check “Why I would put Money”).I would put AI, because AI is something that will be very present in the future, so looking back at the beginning of AI would be nice, because then we can see if we had solutions to our AI problems of the future, in the AI of the past. Also, AI is constantly changing and evolving, so therefore, because of the reasons changing things are great in “Why I would put Money”, AI is a great thing to put in a time capsule. I would put ChatGPT for text, and Dalle 2 for images. Finally, I would put a map of Canada, because geography is constantly changing, so seeing what our country used to look like could help geologists in the future figure out the fundamentals of tectonic plate movement, or it could show what the borders used to look like. Either way, it even changes a lot, so again, “Why I would put Money” for the reasons why it’s a good fit for a tie capsule. That’s what I would put in my time capsule, but what about you?
