Lemonade stand

Hello everyone! Today, I’m going to discuss my experience of running a lemonade stand. The backstory is that my parents were involved in a convention and they wanted to make the event more lively, and generate some income in the process. So, they organized props for the event and decided to set up a lemonade stand, which I was in charge of. This idea was inspired by what I did at the same organization’s conference the previous year, where I had run a tea stall and managed to raise a significant amount from tips alone.

This time, however, we sold our products for money. We prepared lemonade, poured it into pitchers, and added some more money making opportunity with some snacks to sell. Along with regular lemonade, we put effort into making the stand aesthetically appealing and included a variety of snacks.

At first, I was the only one running the stand, but soon, a friend named Rohan came to help. He created a poster, which we placed at the convention’s entrance to attract people to our stand. Rohan, a good team player also assisted me in selling lemonade and advertising our snacks.

After Rohan, my other friend, Vihan, joined us. Then, we had two more members join our team, including one named Mina. The challenge we faced was the competition from the bar at the front of the convention area. Most attendees gravitated there, overlooking our stand at the back, which was disappointing as we had worked hard on our setup.

Regardless, by the end of the conference, we had made about $280 in profit. We didn’t receive any explicit feedback, but we noticed satisfied customers. We kept them satisfied by providing quick service and nice presentations, ensuring high customer satisfaction. Decorative elements, such as fake lemons, pictures, straws, and a crate adorned with lemon paper probably attracted them to us. We also had a sign saying “Freshly Squeezed Lemonade: $0.25” (although it was actually $5) which also might have caught their attention.

Unfortunately, due to our location, we didn’t get as many visitors as we wished for, but those who came seemed pleased. Overall, it was a memorable experience running a lemonade stand at the convention. Anyway, bye everyone and see you later!
