Hello, everyone! Today, I’m excited to talk about the Apple TV series, “Hijack.” As you might deduce from the title, the show unfolds around a dramatic plane hijacking. And if the ‘hijack’ part wasn’t immediately apparent, well, I’m here to clarify that too, especially for my newer readers or the younger audience who might not catch the reference.

The main character, portrayed by the talented Idris Elba, is Sam Nelson, who boards what he believes to be an ordinary flight from Dubai to London Heathrow. He’s settled in the comfort of first class on Kingdom Airlines, specifically flight KA29. But as the flight progresses, we notice that something’s not quite right. Items are missing from bags, and there’s suspicious movement from economy to first class. Then, a student discovers a bullet in the bathroom—which they naively report to a seemingly harmless old man who, unbeknownst to them, is actually one of the hijackers.
As tensions escalate, we learn that there are five hijackers in total, with Stuart being the ringleader, referred to as “Hijacker Number One.” A key detail that might have slipped by unnoticed is that Sam Nelson seems to be aware of a crucial conversation between the hijackers. The hijackers then attempt to impose control, leading to a scuffle where we find out only one of the guns is loaded, sparking a frantic situation.

I don’t want to give away too much more, but I can say that “Hijack” is a series packed with action, suspense, and a gripping plot. The way the show builds up suspense is masterful, and honestly, there’s not much more I could ask for from a series.
As the first season has come to a close, the initial hijack arc has been resolved. Whether this will be the first of many hijacks or a standalone crisis remains to be seen. What’s certain is that “Hijack” has set a high bar for any potential follow-up seasons. Anyway, bye everyone and see you later!
