Today, I’m going to talk about the biking trip I had with my dad. It was a great day filled with fun and adventure. We started by riding to a nearby park and later took a detour by the side of the lake to enjoy the scenic view and have a refreshing drink.

We began our journey from home, and everything was pretty much routine until we reached the park. I led the way while my dad followed closely behind. We live in an area with bike lanes, so we made good use of them. However, as we reached the heart of the road that lacked bike lanes, we carefully exited and continued on a path marked with arrows, leading us to a beautiful trail. Each trail was numbered, and we decided to take trail number two, which led us westward to the park and back eastward home.
During the trip, we also passed by the Mimico Waterfront Trail. We biked through scenic spots such as Rotary Peace Park and the Rotary Tennis Courts. Additionally, we went over some cool terrain, and while passing by the baseball field, I could’ve sworn I saw my friend from camp. It was a delightful coincidence, because we met where we had been to many times together at camp.

Even though we didn’t cover a long distance on our bikes due to my dad having a meeting later, we still managed to enjoy the trip. In total, we biked around 5 km. The weather was quite hot, so I had to wear a full sleeve shirt as my mom insisted I had to, as so to protect me from sun damage.
Fun Fact: There are 450+ Kilometres of bike trails in Toronto. #BikeTO.
Also, as the new mayor, Olivia Chow rode her bike to her swearing in as mayor.
Tips: Please don’t forget always wear protective gear such as shin, elbow and knee pads, along with a helmet, check if your brakes work, see if your tires are inflated, drink lots of water (take bottles with you), and avoid biking on the highway.
In conclusion, the biking trip with my dad was a wonderful experience. Discovering new trails, encountering old friends, and spending quality time together made it truly memorable. I can’t wait to plan our next biking adventure! Bye everyone and see you later!
