Pizza lunch

Hello everyone! Today, I’m going to be talking about that one day almost that everyone loves. Pizza lunch day!

Every school I’ve been to has Pizza Lunch, but it’s quite possible that other schools don’t. So for those of you who have never even heard of pizza lunch, it’s essentially just a day of school where you come to school, but instead of bringing your own lunch, the school gives you pizza instead. At some schools it happens twice a week, but in mine it happened every week. At some schools like my own, you don’t just get pizza.

We used to get veggies, potatoes, candies, brownies, juice, and milk. That was before Covid. After covid there was oreos and juice with it. Pizza lunches are usually not from the school, but from the parent association of the school. At my schools the parents get some money, then they buy all the pizza and stuff, then some volunteers from the association come to our school and set up tables in the gym and serve it. You can also win getting a pizza lunch if you win a tournament. Then after the tournament, in a few weeks you’ll have to play against the teachers. If you win that game, you get pizza. If you don’t win, you still get pizza. The girls at my school won the soccer tournament, so they faced off against the teachers. The teachers win really easy on them, and me and my friend saw the whole match. Somehow, even by going easy, the teachers won! Then after that it was lunchtime, so everyone sat down, and then the girls got to eat pizza. I’m not sure if pizza lunches are just Canada thing or if it’s in other countries. However, I know another thing that is just a American thing. Science fairs! OK that was there as a joke, but let’s go back to the topic.

Most kids in my school loves the lunch. However there’s like a few people who can’t have pizza, or they just don’t want it. All the kids who take the Pizza lunch actually like it, but some kids have allergies to the things in the pizza. There’s one of those kids in my class, and he just brings a packed lunch. At the two schools I’ve been to, they always serve pepperoni and cheese pizza. That’s it. The pizza variety is just two types. Cheese and pepperoni are like the yin and yang of the pizza world. They are two of the most recognized and liked pizzas in the world. Other people may like veggie pizzas, or mushroom pizzas, but most kids simply just enjoy cheese or pepperoni pizzas. If you don’t know what pepperoni is, it’s essentially just a sausage cut up into thin pieces and put on pizza. Some kids at my school prefer to eat the pizzas in calzonie form. If you don’t know what a calzone is, it’s literally just a pizza folded so it’s a half circle. I’m not saying that they take the whole pizza and just fold it, but they just take their slices and fold them into halves. Sometimes calzonies even have stuff on the inside, and when people eat them, they’re essentially just eating a big taco. Usually kids only take two slices, but some kids take 6. I have absolutely no clue why, but one of the kids in my class always takes 8 slices of pizza. They are absolutely crazy, because they always eat them all. That is a whole pizza. They eat a whole pizza in one go every other friday. Everyone starts of with two slices and then if you’re done, you can come back for extras. He usually does this so fast that he gets 8 slices total. I usually don’t take extras, because two slices are already enough food as it is. I have never seen a school with pizza lunch outside of Canada I am just going to assume that this is mainly a Canada thing, like poutine. Not the Russian leader Putin, I mean the food.

Anyway, bye everyone and see you later!
