Interland: Part 1

Hello everyone! Today, I’m going to be talking about Interland, a game made by Google. Interland is an interactive online safety teaching software. If you search up Interland game then you will surely find it. There’s four main kingdoms in the game. The first one is Kind Kingdom. The second one is Reality River. The third one is Mindful Mountain and the last one is the Tower of Treasure. Personally my favourite is Kind kingdom, then it’s the tower of treasure, then it’s mindful mountain and then finally reality River. Reality River isn’t that entertaining but it still teaches the kids about the most important thing which is don’t fall for scams. While it’s still boring, it teaches a good thing. Anyway, in Kind kingdom you are trying to stop bullies from making everyone unhappy. They’re spread out throughout the region and you can stop them by either blocking them with buttons or reporting them with speakers. To make the Internauts happy again you have to give them hearts which are just emojis. You get these emojis by collecting heart shaped crystals. They’re scattered on the map in spots where they regenerate so it’s kind of easy to get them. That’s not the main problem. The main problem is that the bullies are actively making them unhappy. The game tries to teach the kids about how what you say online can really hurt someone’s feelings. It also teaches you that you really shouldn’t try and bully other people. You should always try to keep a positive attitude on the Internet because it really can have an effect on some people’s lives. The way the blocking works is simple. There are wooden fences scattered around the region and you have to lure the bullies behind it ( the side with the button) so that the Bullies can stay there and not be able to get out. You do this by going there yourself. You quite literally go to the Bullies, say hi then you wanna wait and once they get behind the barrier you press the red button and close the door on them. Seems kind of rude if you ask me, but it works nonetheless. They are bullying kids so I think it’s deserved. It’s kind of sad though seeing them just trying to break open the bars but not being able to. Anyway the blocking is just showing you that if someone’s being mean to you online all you really have to do is just block them on your social media and they can’t bother you anymore. Another thing you can do is report them. Social media companies are actively trying to stop cyber bullying as it’s bad for business so reporting bullies will certainly get them banned. However that’s not the only way to deal with bullies. You could just be a bystander and actually skip saving people from the bullies. You can still win the game this way. For some reason though I feel like it shouldn’t because then you all you’re really doing is just not teaching the kids about how you’re supposed to act online and the entire point of the game is to teach kids that you should try to be as positive and nice online as possible as you can be. You can also just skip giving people the happiness in some areas by straight up just jumping into the next area of course there are a few required bullies to stop, like the final boss. The final boss is a giant bully and you beat it by making people happy so they spread happiness to the bully. It teaches you that bullies are people to, and we should spread kindness. Once you beat any kingdom, your skills are set to the test with a small quiz that includes interactive animations. You’re giving a blank and six options to respond to that blank. It also teaches you about what you can do to keep the Internet a safe and happy place. It also explains to you what you actually did in the game, so you don’t just have to guess what it actually means in real life because it’s not exactly made clear in the actual game itself. In fact once you complete the quiz there’s actually a final boss level. Once you beat the boss, the big bully turns into a normal person, so everyone’s happy once again. That is the grand finale of kind Kingdom. You reach the top after that quiz and you get the magic crystal of the kind kingdom. You also shown the achievements you got along the way. At the end you get a PDF certificate as well. The next Kingdom is the Reality River. This teaches you about phishing scams and how to tell real from fake. To beat the kingdom all you have to do is get through the water without being tricked by a Phisher, but you’re giving a bunch of questions and scenarios and you have to answer them correctly to get to the other side. That’s it. It’s not that fun but it’s still teaches the kids the most important lesson in the game. The fisher also tries to discourage you when you fail, or get’s surprised when you get it right. Phishers are actually real, and they are a big threat. People do try to steal your money. I actually got a few wrong when I first did this because they’re kind of tricky questions. It teaches you what to do and what not to do when you’re being scammed, which I think is actually great. Anyway, once you finish the questions you just go to the other side of the river and get the crystal. It’s really not that interesting. Once you complete it you are treated to a few questions. Once you get the Questions all right you can then immediately go and get the Crystal you need to get all four crystals to beat the game and I’ve already done this so it’s kind of easy.

Anyway, bye everyone and see you next time!
