Hello everyone! Today, I’m going to be talking about the soccer tournament I went to. We had around 12 members on our team and two coaches. On the day of the tournament, the coaches got us all into the bus and then spent the whole bus ride strategizing. We didn’t discuss anything important on the bus ride however. Once we got there, we faced off against another team. We won three nothing. Our next game was against Our school’s rival. I mean, every school hates that team so pretty much everybody‘s rival was who we faced. We lost two one, and I didn’t get to play for most of that game. But that was OK, as I’m bad at soccer.

My position was defense, but I didn’t get to play most of the games. Next game was against another team that I recognized. They were the best in the tournament, so we lost 3-1. They had a really good player on their team, so when the rest of the players went up to attack he stayed back. He would slowly move up so even if we kicked the ball back it would just go to the player and then he’d score a goal. After that we played off against the team that also lost to the other teams but beat the first team we played. However we were better than them somehow, and we beat them three nothing. Sorry I meant five nothing. After that we had to fight our rivals again. It was the semi finals now. I didn’t get to play for the entire match so I can’t really go into detail about what happened. But we started off with a lead of a goal , but then the other team stole the ball and let it down in the center and we tried to stop them but they kept on passing and one of the players got behind the defense and then they shot it in the net. After that we got a goal instead. Then they tried to get another goal but one of our teammates tried to stop them but the attackers kicked the ball into his face but he use his hands to block it and even though there’s a rule that says if your hand is completely on your body then it’s not a handball so we all thought that the ref would just not call it but this ref called it anyway. It was in a penalty kick, so they scored and then after the penalty kick the match ended and that’s how we lost. We got eliminated and all because of a faulty call by the referee.

Even though we lost I think next year we’re probably going to win because after you sure you get better. However this time we didn’t get to learn anything from the other teams because our coach said that their teams strategies can’t apply to us because of our players. Team sports are good for you because they teach you collaboration and you get good exercise it also builds friendships.
