Hello everyone! Today, I’m going to be talking about J. K. Rowling’s book, Fantastic beasts and where to find them. It’s not as if it’s a recent book or anything but I only just read it so it’s pretty recent for me. It’s an extension of her Harry Potter series but not as you’d think. It’s not a story it’s a guide to fantastic beasts. The fictional author of the book’s name is Newt Scamander. Actually a series of movies to go with the book, but there is only three movies in the series and the next one isn’t coming out till the next year. It’s actually coming out in 2024 so in two years not one year. Unlike the movie where there’s actually a story, this book simply explains fantastic beasts to the reader. There’s two versions the Muggle version and the wizard version. Now the Muggle version just gets rid of the introduction and instead just says obviously everything is fiction. Now the reason that they gave the muggles a version of this in the Harry Potter universe is that all the proceeds would go to a Goodwill, a renowned Muggle charity that’s a comic relief. There is a certain number of species in the book that J. K. Rowling invented. Some of these are already in the Harry Potter books, and some of these are in the fantastic beasts movies. However the author, J. K. Rowling did an exceptional job inventing all of these creatures and it’s quite an entertaining read. And by the way in the introduction for the wizard version, they simply talk about why he made magizoology exist, and why muggles don’t notice the beasts. So keep in mind the author didn’t just use creatures from the books in the movies. She had to make a whole new slew of creatures for this book, and considering the fact that each of them takes up almost a page that’s pretty impressive. She didn’t put all the creatures from the books either shall oh that just made her job harder got appreciate that. Anyway it’s entertaining to see all of these new creatures, as well as literally see them with the images. You should really read the book if you have the time, it’s actually very interesting and entertaining. I’m just gonna give you an example of one of the funny creatures . This is an extract from the book. The puffskein is a scavenger that will eat anything from leftovers to spiders, but it has a particular preference for sticking its tongue up the nose of sleeping wizards and eating their boogers. This tendency has made the puffskein much beloved by the wizard children for many generations and remains a highly popular wizarding pet. The same creature is actually mentioned in the introduction. Not the actual introduction in the book, but the one on the back of the cover. Also, to add some humor to the back cover introduction, it has the signature of Albus Dumbledore so you know you have to read it. Anyway all in all I rate this book a nine out of 10. The only reason why it’s not a ten, is because there’s way less images than I thought there’d be. I really want to see some of these things so that was a bit of a disappointment. Anyway, I’ll see you another time bye!
