Hello everyone! Today, I am going to be talking about our trip to Mount Etna. Mount Etna is a mountain located in Sicily. It’s not really a mountain, because it’s an active volcano . You may think that’s really dangerous, but you’re going to get an alert if you’re near the volcano and it’s about to erupt.

You were most likely going to get the alert way before the volcano scheduled to erupt and there’s probably gonna be a huge evacuation and most likely nobody’s gonna get hurt from the eruption. There was an eruption in May, but that’s been the most recent one. Anyway let’s get back to the topic. We just drove and we got there. It took us and hour. Once we got there, my mom bought some water and food, and my dad found the office where they sold the tickets for the gondola. We bought the tickets, and then boarded the gondola. The gondola takes 12 minutes just to get from the bottom of the mountain to the the middle of the mountain. There’s a lot of mountains in Italy, and one of the ranges we saw was the Dolomites. On the gondola ride, we just looked out and my dad recorded everything. However at each post that held up the gondola, the cart shook a lot. And at the beginning of the gondola, it shakes even more and there’s like a big shock. Once we got to the top of the gondola, we got off and just went outside. My mom and dad wanted to record us walking on the mountain, so they did that and I just climbed up a bit and my parents decided to follow me. We were climbing up quite a bit but we ended up stopping because you have to have a guard to go over 2500 feet. Fun fact, Etna is the large second largest active volcano in the world. I don’t know what the first is I haven’t checked yet.
Etna also has a bit of mythology connected to it. When the gods ruled the world, everything was nice and dandy. However one monster called Typhon just decided to mess everything up and destroy the world. All the gods fought him including Zeus, but Zeus was captured and essentially tortured to death, and then Typhon stole his tendons. Zeus was rescued by Hermes and a Satyr, and they got the tendons, and Zeus picked up Mount Etna and smashed Typhon under it, and it became a volcano.
..

My dad and mom were recording some stuff so I just walked around everywhere. All the rocks are made from volcanic ash and lava. The ground was black and there was ash everywhere. There’s a huge formation of lava rocks and a bunch of very small rocks and medium-size rocks scattered everywhere across the ground. There was also a gift shop and a restaurant there if anybody wanted to get some stuff there. We ended up getting something, A little sculpture of the volcano that was painted. All the sculptures at the shop were made from rocks and everything was all black, other than the ones that were painted. There was also a gift shop at the gondola at the bottom of the mountain, but we didn’t go there. Going down the mountain was seemingly more bumpy, but felt way shorter. Mount Etna was great. Anyway, bye everyone and see you later!
