Microbiome

Hello everyone! Today, I’m going to be talking about your gut microbiome. Your gut microbiome is the ecosystem of bacteria living in your gut. Long ago, our ancestors allied themselves with bacteria.

The bacteria help the humans with digesting things and boosting the immune system, and the humans give them a place to stay. That is how your gut microbiome came into being. The way the gut microbiome works is that there are three types of bacteria. Neutral bacteria that can do neither good or bad, good bacteria that help your immune and digestive systems, and finally bad bacteria that hurt your body. When you eat food, some of the nutrients go to the gut microbiome and they breed bacteria that like that food. The more of these bacteria you breed, the more you’re going to like that food, or other foods like it. The reason for this is because there’s a theory among scientists that the gut microbiome might actually be influencing in your brain’s decisions.

For example if you breed tons of bacteria that like greasy foods like fries and burgers, you want to eat burgers even more. If you eat lots of greens , you breed more veggie liking bacteria. Now the more greasy food you eat, the more you’re going to keep liking it, and greasy foods are bad for your body. That would cause obesity and an unhealthy body. To prevent this, you should eat healthy foods to breed bacteria that like those foods, which makes you like those foods, which makes you wanna eat more of those, which leads to a better life. However, the bacteria in the gut can also be dangerous to you, and can attack your cells. That is why the majority of the immune system is stationed there. However, your Bacteria in your gut microbiome also be helpful as I told you. Some of these bacteria breakdown enzymes that can’t be digested, while others produce cytokines, which are crucial to the immune system.

Your gut microbiome is an amazing thing.
