Hello everyone!
Today, I’m gonna be talking about mothers.

Let’s start with how mothers are portrayed in children’s books. An example of this is Ivy and Bean, a book series for kids. The main focus of the series is two kids, Ivy and Bean, who are best friends that try new things every day. Bean’s mother is usually very supportive of Bean’s choices. Sometimes the mother even helps them out with her projects, like the time they tried to build a treehouse. Man I wish I had a treehouse. There are plenty of things mothers do for their kids, and most mothers have to do their job while taking care of children. Imagine that! Doing work and taking care of children at the same time! That must be really hard. Well I assume so. My mother is very kind. She works very hard to give me a good life, she helps a lot of people as well, and she gives things to the poor. I hope all mothers are like that.
An example of a mother figure in movies would be May Parker, Peter Parker’s aunt. She is in the movies Spider-Man Homecoming, Spider-Man Far From Home, and in Spider-Man No Way Home. Peter’s parents mysteriously disappeared when he was just a little boy. Though before disappearing, they brought Peter to his Uncle Ben and Aunt May’s house so they could take care of him. However, his Uncle Ben was killed by a thief, so May was left taking care of Peter alone. However, when his Uncle Ben was killed he had already become Spiderman. He didn’t need much taking care of, but the loss saddened him greatly. His aunt helped him to get through that time, and May also gave him hope and morality. It was unfortunate that she died in No Way Home. Many of the viewers felt like crying when they saw that scene. It was very heartbreaking. Her final words were with “great power comes great responsibility”. Basically the Spider-Man catchphrase. You see, when uncle Ben dies, before his death we see him tell Peter with great power comes great responsibility. Through this he becomes Spider-Man. It’s nice to see May say it for once. This shows how important she is to Peter .

In greek mythology, the most important deity of motherhood Is Rhea, the titan of motherhood. She was the mother of Zeus , Poseidon, Hades, Hestia, Demeter, and Hera. However, each time one of her children were born, her husband Kronos swallowed the babies. The first baby was Hestia. Kronos swallowed the babies because when he killed his father, Ouranos for the title of ruler of the cosmos, he had given him a curse that one day his children will overthrow him and take over the universe.. Therefore, he ate the children to prevent them from overtaking in the future. When they were born, he ate Demeter, Hera, Hades, and Poseidon as well. However when Zeus was born, Gaia, Mother Earth hide Zeus on Crete and so when it was time to present to the child to Kronos, Gaia made a rock that looked exactly like Zeus was in size and weight. So when she presented it to Kronos he swallowed it up his mouth. He didn’t even notice it was a rock. Then, Zeus was raised secretly, with the occasional visit from his mother. Rhea is one of the most important mother figures because if she didn’t exist, the Tyranny of Kronos would still extend to today.
