The innate immune system, and the adaptive immune system. Your innate immune system is your first line of defense. They can recognize the majority of antigens invading your body, and they can also recognize human cells as human cells, and bacteria or viruses or whatever you’re fighting as enemies . Your adaptive immune system is more precise, with weapons against every single living organism. Including yourself. However that’s a topic for another time.

So let’s say you cut your finger. Certain pathogens that are very dangerous sneak past your innate immune system and wreak havoc. Meanwhile dendritic cells gather samples of this bacteria, then go through the lymphatic vessels to the nearest lymph node, where it searches through the T cells and B cells to find some cells that react to the bacteria’s proteins. You see, everything is made of proteins. As a result, your adaptive immune system mixes around their cells to make different receptors to find these proteins. These receptors are only for one type of protein per cell however. Using this, they can detect every single protein combination. Because of this, a lymph node is the largest library in the universe. Every single protein combination is listed within it. Because of that, it’s your greatest weapon against antigens, however it can also harm you a lot. You see, it cannot recognize self from other. So it disposes of the cells that recognize self as an enemy. Do use the same as fresh. Usually, the same is a chicken wing size organ that is situated near her heart.
