In 2021, my best friend and I turned 10. My birthday in July was normal, but my friend’s birthday in August was great fun for everyone but my friend. His birthday was in a park near a lake. My mom and my grandfather had come with me, but the park was very far from where we live, so we were the last to arrive. When we arrived, my friend introduced me to his other friends. 5 of his friends and their families had come for his birthday, and one family had brought their dog. After the introductions, we wanted to play, so my friend took his ball, and we then started playing soccer.
After 10 minutes it was time to eat. After he was done eating, my friend went to feed the dog, and that’s where the problems started.
Suddenly, the dog bit him! He screamed, and the parents quickly moved the dog away from my friend, then came to look at my friend. Luckily it wasn’t deep, so no blood came out, and he didn’t have an infection. The family that brought the dog said sorry, and then the party continued. Later, we went to the lake to swim and play. My friend’s little brother had decided it was a good idea to take their family’s canoe out to play. The canoe was banana-shaped, yellow in colour, and about the length of a small car. There was also a flag in the shape of an isosceles triangle, with a number, and only one seat in the canoe, so my friend had decided we should take turns with the. When it was my turn, the little brother took the canoe, then gave it to me, so I got in, but when I tried to pilot it, the little brother pushed me, and then I was submerged in water. After getting back into the canoe, he pushed me again, and I was under water again. After about 20 minutes of this, without being noticed, the flag was gone. Nobody knew exactly when it fell, but my friend only saw it when it was his turn. He also saw that his little brother had pushed me, so he made a logical connection: his little brother had lost his favorite flag, and he was furious. “WHY DID YOU DO THAT?” Shouted my friend.
“YOU COULDN’T GIVE HIM THE CANOE BECAUSE IT WAS HIS TURN, NO! YOU HAD TO PUSH IT INTO THE LAKE, AND BECAUSE OF YOU AND YOUR FOOLISHNESS, MY FAVOURITE FLAG IS LOST! “P…P…P…Sorry.”
After his anger subsided, we went to the beach, and put the canoe up against the tent, then we changed our clothes, then we were starving, and it was almost time to eat the cake, so to pass the time, we had played football again, and we had talked. Then after about 20 minutes it was time to eat the cake. We were seated on a picnic bench and I had one of the spots below the tree to sit on. When we were all seated, the parents took paper plates, then handed them out to everyone, then my friend’s mother took a rectangular white box, and inside was a chocolate cake ! The mother had put the cake on the table, then put candles on it. His little brother had lit them and we were singing, but suddenly a piece of lighted candle falls into my friend’s shoe, and he screams and screams in pain, and no one knows what’s going on until he screams: “My foot, my foot!” His brother then removed my friend’s shoe, then a relative removed the piece of candle and threw it in the trash.
After that, the parents had ended the party after giving us cakes. The parents took the toys, their bag and all the things they had brought and put them in their cars. We had helped, so it was over quickly.
Before leaving, I said to my friend
“That was the worst birthday in the world for you, my friend!”
