Smoking

Hello everyone! Today, I’m going to talk about smoking as it’s injurious to health. It gives you instant relief, but it clogs up your lungs with unnecessary stuff. It also brings in bacteria and the carbon monoxide that comes from smoking binds with the red blood cells killing them. You see, red blood cells are made of Hemoglobin. Well, mostly. Hemoglobin can bind with carbon monoxide and a few other things. However, this transforms the red blood cells’ hemoglobin into carboxyhemoglobin otherwise known as COHb. The same cells cannot bind with oxygen again. That makes them unable to carry oxygen around the body. Now if you smoke a lot, this can be a big problem. You see, every cell needs oxygen to live, and the only cells that can carry oxygen are red blood cells.Red blood cells make up 40-45% of one human’s cells, and are the most abundant cell in the entire body. They use the blood vessels and veins to circulate around the body.

The heart is the muscle that pumps the blood, so the red blood cells circulate around and through it a lot. The oxygen that you get comes from your lungs, because the nose and mouth send the oxygen they breathe in in exchange for waste co2, cell waste to breath out. You can also breath in Co2, so when that happens, it’s not good for you. Coincidentally, smoking purpussly brings in Co2. I think now you should get why you should not smoke.
