Hello everyone! Today, I am going to talk about dosa. Dosa is a South Indian dish that includes curry and is vegan. My grandmother makes variations of dosa with cheese, ghee, butter, etc. These dosas are extremely delicious, so I usually get them for breakfast.

From a nutritional point of view, dosas are very healthy for you, especially when made with oats, quinoa, or vegetable puree. In traditional recipes, they are usually made with lentils and rice.
There is a very famous dosa stand at a New York park managed only by one Sri Lankan man for the last twenty years. Some people from India went there just to eat the dosas, which you can find anywhere in India. That just goes to show that his dosas are the most delicious of their kind. His customers also visit his stand regularly for breakfast or lunch, and the stand runs out of food by 3:00 pm, so it also closes then.
Homemade dosas are usually very small, but the restaurant dosas are usually big things, and are wrapped up. One of these restaurants is called Saravana Bhavan. It’s a big chain, that focuses on South Indian food.
Dosa is like a pancake, but made of rice and lentils. Dosa always comes with a side of sambar and chutney. Chutneys come in different colours and flavours. You can make them with coconut paste, coriander leaves, lentils, onions, chillies, etc.

Fun facts: Chefs have created newer varieties of dosas such as millet dosa, mutton dosa, fruit dosa, sprouts dosa, neer dosa, paper dosa, egg dosa, spinach dosa etc.
Every now and again, dosas make their appearance on social media. I recently saw a video on Instagram, titled dosas, that’s it. U.S Vice President Kamala Harris made dosas with Mindy Kaling on youtube. That video got around 6 million views. That really shows the popularity of dosas in the world. The most viewed dosa video that I found online has 33 million views.
Dosas are an international phenomenon, and they’re healthy. So what’s really stopping you from having one?
