Hello everyone! Today, I am going to be talking about a Malayalam film that was released on December 24, 2021 on Netflix. It is called Minnal Murali.

The movie is about two people who got struck by lightning during a strange spatial formation of planets: three planets were aligned in a triangular formation causing powerful lightning on earth. Two villagers named Jason and Shibu were hit by the lightning in the village of Kurukkanmoola . Heavy lightning and thunder storm were expected. However the people didn’t know about this, because the news broadcast was made in Hindi. They only understood Malayalam. So everybody went outside and then Shibu and Jason got struck by the lightning. Shibu wasn’t taken to the hospital, because nobody found him. He was a homeless guy. Now Jason, was the son of the local tailor who thought that he was the most stylish person in the village. However everybody rushed him to the hospital and he was OK but soon he began experiencing symptoms such as cough and spitting out a blue liquid, and the same happened to Shibu. Anyway, they both also acquired super strength, speed, and resistance. However, Shibu was able to use telekinesis. Telekinesis is the ability to control objects or move them. Shibu could do that and he could lift many things while doing it. Soon, these powers became more and more visible. In fact, when Jason got into a fight with his police officer brother-in-law, he punched him straight through a brick wall and into a well.

Soon afterwards, Jason found out that his powers came from the lightning. He decided to turn into a superhero. Eventually, he started training, and soon the first mission became clear. It was to introduce themselves as Minnal Murali. By doing that, he will tell everybody that he was the hero of the town. The way to do this became clear when he realized that the police chief stopped his passport application on purpose. Jason decided to scare him at the school play with a famous actor visiting. Eventually , the police decided that Minnal Murali was a terrorist. But Jason’s brother-in-law thought it was Jason himself. The same night, Shibu robbed a bank to get some money for his love’s hospital bill. She didn’t have any money and her father actually had to steal to get the money before Shibu gave the money to them. When his boss found out what had happened (the boss is Jason),he got really mad and yelled at him,and later went back to say sorry,but he realized that the shop had been burned down with the father inside. The entire town was there and they put out the fire. When he entered the shop, he found out that Shibu had written Minnal Murali on the side of a wall. How do we know it was Shibu? Well,this is what happened.You see,the father refused Shibu his daughter’s hand in marriage. For that, Shibu became so mad that he decided to burn the entire shop and then he started crying the shop’s on fire the shop’s on fire help the shop’s on fire and a bunch of people start coming in eventually Jason realizes that the father was inside and that’s what happened. The police then checked the footage of a security camera made by one of the richest people in the village. They could then see who had burned down the shop.However,when they tried to watch it, Shibu appeared out of nowhere with his mask and destroyed it, but Jason tried to stop him and made Shibu accidentally make a bus fall all over into a cliff and saved the people by pulling the bus back .He also tore a piece of Shibu’s mask off.Then Shibu tried asking Usha to marry him,but the person who she was engaged too told him to go back home.

Afterwards in the next scene, we find Usha’s fiancé dead in his car that was sinking into a lake. As of now, we know Shibu has killed two people and robbed a bank, but he also threatened another person and told him to keep quiet,but after this he couldn’t stand it any more and he decided to tell the police. This is also when Jason and Shibu find their true identities. After this,they decide to leave each other alone, which is easier said than done for one them.

After running away, Shibu goes home with Usha inside,who revealed she loves him too, but a mob lit his house on fire and he had fireworks in his house and the fire lit the fireworks which blew up and killed Usha and her young daughter. Now in the next scene we see the festival ground. By the way, Jason got arrested. At the festival, Shibu’s roommate is telling the police they need to arrest Shibu immediately because he goes absolutely insane when he loses something he loves. For example, when he was seven, a bull killed his friend and he burnt the bull alive. And that was when he was seven and now, he has much more power and he is not seven anymore. And then Shibu starts blowing everything up with bombs. Eventually, a secondary character disarms a ton of bombs Shibu set up, with water pumped out from a hole in the wall. After this,Jason and Shibu fight. Eventually, Shibu pinned Jason in a church, and almost kills him when Jason uses telekinesis to save himself and then Jason wins the fight.That’s the end of the film. I this is a really good movie because it makes us feel sorry for the antagonist and it’s an interesting concept. Having a Malayali in a small town village becoming a superhero, I really like seeing that.

Everyone’s acting in the film was amazing, but the boy that discovered how he got his powers’ acting was amazing. You could really feel his innocence and intelligence.The film’s hero was probably inspired by Shazam and Superman, while the villain was inspired by Black adam and Martian Manhunter.Anyway, bye everyone see you later!
