Hello everyone! Today, we’re going to be talking about The Great Wall of China! It was originally built by the Ming dynasty of China across the borders of their territory to protect against the Mongols who raided China back then. The wall goes over 21,196.18km, but it was estimated in 2009 that it was 8,850 km long. On the wall, every few hundred feet you would find a watch tower. In sections of the wall, you would find holes leading to tunnels that go to the other side of the wall. They were used to practically roll bombs into the enemies. You could also find holes that would lead to secret tunnels. The tunnels served to create the element of surprise. The Chinese soldiers’ would break down a section of weak brick and then launched out at the enemies they were facing. At the end of the wall, you would find a fort. It has incredible defences, such as watchtowers on every corner of a wall, multiple walls, and death zones, where if the enemies somehow managed to get there, they would get killed by arrows or fire. The entire thing is also majestic at the same time. The architect who built that fort calculated they would need something like 9,999,999,999,999 bricks to make it, and they left the last brick as a reminder. That’s all I really know about the 21,196.18km Great Wall of China (other than the fact that 10 million people visit it everyday). See you next time!
