The garden center: Local version

Hello everyone!

Yesterday I met with somebody who had made their very own garden center. Everything is sold at reasonable prices there, and he was very kind and even helped put the flowers on a cart and moved them to the car.

If you’re wondering why we didn’t just go to Costco, there’s a reason for that. You see Costco is owned by people who have many branches, meaning they are most likely they are corperations. But the garden center I just told you about is a local buissness. We should help them by buying their products.

The reason why we are supporting the local businesses is because they were hit the hardest by the pandemic as everyone was going to the big stores like Walmart. Many stores had to shut down due to public health restrictions and more and more people converted their store to online ones. Although some local small businesses went online, most people weren’t making their own websites. Instead they were using websites like Amazon to sell stuff.

The owner of the shop of that local garden center also came out in and explained what everything was to us. He was a very kind man. He also helped me choose a tomato plant to bring home. We also brought a Jalapeño plant home.

The garden had this big wooden platform that protected his plants. He also hung up a few of his bigger plants on the sides of that platform and it looked very nice. And there was plenty of other floral arrangements everywhere.

Again It’s really a good thing if you go to a local business instead of a big store like Costco or Amazon. It really helps some people out.

The store owner could also improve his business by having some potting soil, planters that are a bit more big, and more variety of flowers and vegetables and succulent plants. And he can also make his own website so that people could order online and then somebody could to his shop and pick it up.

He should also put advertisements everywhere in his neighborhood with the address of his shop so he could get more customers. I’ll see you later, bye!
