Earlier today, I was out on our balcony looking for birds with my binoculars when all of a sudden I saw a really big spiderweb.I went over to look at it and I realized a couple of leaves were actually stuck on it but then I went away to go back because it wasn’t that big of a deal. But then I saw the corner of my eye something feathery on the edge of the balconies and, well you can already guess what it is because you’ve seen the title of this blog post.A dead bird.I went over to my dad and told him about the bird and he and mom came over and we decided that the bird had most likely rammed into the glass. When we examine the bird more closely however we found out it’s a Robin. It’s the same reason why that other Robin when we were are getting all our stuff from our old home died. It happened earlier in 2019 and a robin rammed into this little glass stairway.Anyway, we’ve decided that we’re going to put some scarecrows and fake owls around the glass areas so that birds will think”oh boy he is going to eat us and run I mean fly away.” Well if you’re wondering why robins have orange bellies then I can help you.I heard a myth that goes like this.So apparently an old man told all the birds except for one, that the last bird who wasn’t a part of their tribe actually had stolen the power of fire and they realized they could use that power for the good of all animals. As literally everybody died during the winter wthout fire, they sent Robin who at the time was a master thief to go steal it.He actually managed to do it,but he scorched his belly turning it orange and well let’s just say that he also created a giant fire trail and the lone bird found out he stole it so he followed him and followed him until they reach the place where his friend toucan held him off.Robin by then had lost the power of fire but it spread out across the land for the good of all animals.I don’t know much really about robins other than that but well I’m pretty well I think they eat worms. They trick the worms into coming up by stomping their feet on the ground, making the worms think it’s raining and then they get eaten by the birds. So, I hope we won’t get more dead birds around here, bye!
