THE WINTER

Winter is that time of year when the snow covers everything.

It looks purely beautiful, but what happens to the creatures that we depend on for our environment safety?

They have no way of escaping the cold. Winter is like a rose. Beautiful, but prickly. The animals have their methods trying to survive the winter, but lately because of us, it’s been harder to avoid the cold. However, some people try to help. Like the hundreds of volunteers who wanted to stop Covid 19 rushed to help, each winter some individuals go into their garage and get their snow shovels and clean up some parts of their backyards so animals have some place to hide. And that is not just it, some people leave bread outside for the birds to eat, hang up bird feeders, make little shelters, and much more! It goes to show that we can all be a part of one big community that helps each other out when we need it. Sadly there’s nothing we can do about what happened to the plants and trees unless of course you start planting new trees after winter. There are many aspects of the cruelty of winter. Have you ever thought about the water outside. It freezes over when it becomes too cold to be a fluid and underneath that there are many creatures that need air and they have to break through the ice in some areas. What happens when you can’t break through the ice? It suffocates some animals that need air to live. I don’t think that the Walruses are ever going to have problems breaking through the ice because they have humongous teeth. The ice is like a wall of death for the creatures.Winter takes away all the leaves from the trees and it is a cruel sight to watch. However underneath all of this there still is light at the end of the tunnel. After March, the days start to get warmer and if you’re wondering the reason why it’s because it’s spring!
